Shortstown Heritage

Shortstown Centenary Fireworks Display

Firework banner

Organised by the Shortstown Focus Group the centenary firework display was held on the evening of Saturday 18th November and it seemed like the whole of Shortstown came out to celebrate!

Leaflets were delivered to every household in Shortstown and our neighbours in Cotton End, and banners and flyers put up around the village.

Our local Air Cadets acted as stewards on the night, Bellway Homes provided stakes and tape to section off the spectator area, the village hall folk opened up the hall to serve refreshments, and members of the Focus Group were handing out free glow sticks to one and all. Burgers and hot dogs were available from Amici. And once again the whole event was pulled together by PA Mark Atkins who provided music and commentary throughout the evening.

The fantastic display was produced by Kimbolton Fireworks and lasted around 18 mins and was funded by Eastcotts Parish Council and Bedford Borough Cllr Sarah Holland and some of the Focus Groups own centenary fund. Truly a night to remember.
